Research workshops

We are planning to organise some workshops in 2012 to teach people (particularly, but not only, young people) how to research family and military history. This would give you the skills to find out more about some of the Local Heroes but also to trace your family history. They will be in the Plus Centre (IT suite) at Memorial Community Church in Plaistow. Please get in touch if you’d be interested in taking part.

Olympic Bell Ringing

The newly-restored Memorial Bells are taking part in a national bell ringing event on 27 July 2012 as part of the London 2012 Festival to welcome the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games. It is Martin Creed’s Work No. 1197: All the bells in a country rung as quickly and as loudly as possible for three minutes, a piece specially commissioned as part of the London 2012 Festival.
