James' story

From the Tabernacle Messenger (church magazine of the time)

October 1914: Private J Rennie  enlisted, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment

January 1915: Private J Rennie received a parcel for Christmas 1914

September 1916:  Sergeant James Rennie  reported missing in the ‘Great Push’. He had been working a machine gun.  Secretary of the church choir, and engaged to Winnie Brown.

James is also listed on the Board of Trade WW1 War memorial in London
