Albert Edwin Cornwall's story

Served in 13th Battalion K.R.R.C. as Rfm. R/31322.

He died on 25th August 1918, on which date the Battalion took part in an attack to capture the village of  Favreuil (Somme).  In the event the village was strongly fortified by artillery and machine guns, and in spite of valiant attempts the attack was a failure.  It is highly likely that Pte Millage was wounded during the day and subsequently died of his wounds.  The village was finally taken two days later.

Thanks to Barry Langridge for detailed information about men serving with the KRRC.
