Albert's story

On the bell is H Francis.

Also remembered in the East Ham book of Remembrance.

His parents lived at 9 Wellesley Gardens, Wellesley Road, Ilford, Essex.

Elliot from the West Ham Pals website adds: Albert Francis was an original volunteer to the West Ham Battalion (13th Essex) and travelled over on the Princess Victoria on November 17th 1915. He served up until disbandment in February 1918 before transfer to the 1/Essex. He would have enlisted in the Hammers around March 1915.
