Albert Victor Prentice's story

The Tabernacle Messenger (church magazine) of January 1915 wrote that A Prentice received a parcel for Christmas 1914. In June 1915 it reported that he had been wounded.

Albert Prentice enlisted in Spring 1914. He served in 1st Battalion K.R.R.C. as Cpl. 5/4541. The Battalion landed in France on 30th November 1914.

He was killed on 14th November 1916, on which date the Battalion took part in a night attack on Munich Trench, Beaumont Hamel (Somme).  The attack met with some success but unfortunately little advantage was ultimately achieved.

Thanks to Barry Langridge for detailed information about men serving with the KRRC.
