Alexander James' story

The bell has E J Swan, we think it could be this man, A J Swan of Royal Field Artillery D Bty 78 Bde.

The Tabernacle Messenger (church magazine of the time) lists H Swan in the Royal Navy and E Swan as among those receiving a parcel for Christmas 1914. In January 1917 it reports that a Charles Swan had died of wounds. Another bell has N Swan.
