The Memorial Bells helped launch new HLF fund

By Philippa

The Memorial Bells were mentioned by the Heritage Lottery Fund, at a reception at the House of Lords in May 2013, as a good example of a local community finding out more about the impact of the First World War on the people who lived in their streets back then. The event was the launch of a new HLF fund for the centenary of the outbreak of the war in 2014, which will fund more projects looking at the effect the war had on local communities. You can read an article about it here.
